Samantha Hacker, MS
Hi, I’m Samantha Hacker~
Do you need to address your feelings of anxiety, depression, or lack of motivation? Do you feel that learning how to develop positive coping strategies would help you become the person you want to be? Do you struggle with understanding the feelings of shame, guilt or feeling unheard? Would you like to enhance your sense of hope and resilience?
Personally, I have gone through some difficult times in my life and found psychotherapy to be very beneficial – in fact, it changed my life. This experience inspired me to change my career path and obtain a second career as a psychotherapist. My circumstances made me passionate about helping others with mental health issues and being there for the people that need guidance into the next phases of their life.
Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, communication, or just not feeling like yourself lately, I am here to help you find the strength you need to face these issues head on and tackle them one by one. My goal is to provide a safe and collaborative environment to help you with self-exploration and increased awareness of blockage to growth, in addition to eliminating self-defeating attitudes and behaviors. I am an LGTBQ+ affirmative therapist and contribute to the increased health and well-being of our growing diverse community.
I graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate of Pharmacy. I have previously worked with teens and adults in a community and hospital settings. I now aid teens and adults individually in a safe and welcoming environment with the goal in mind to help further personal growth. My approach is based on an integrative viewpoint composed mainly of solution focused and cognitive therapy. I believe clients have the ability to actualize their potential for growth and that the therapeutic relationship plays a pivotal role in positive outcomes.
I enjoy a weekly routine of exercising and going to the beach. I love traveling and spending time with my loved ones, in addition to helping my community through volunteering and advocacy work. I grew up in Broward County and my family is from the Caribbean. I look forward to helping you effectively achieve your goals and to aid you in enhancing balance, healing, and transformation in your life.
