Lina Marquez, LMHC
Hi, I’m Lina Marquez~
I’ve been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida since March 2007. I have over 20 years of experience helping adults, families and children in multiple settings. I am skilled at using a variety of clinical interventions (i.e.: expressive arts combined with cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, and trauma-informed approaches).
I speak three languages – English, Spanish and French. I understand the multicultural challenges many South Floridians face.
I’m a Colombian born immigrant who came to the United States to further my education and practice as a psychotherapist.
Throughout my years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve learned to help my clients by incorporating the creative side of the human brain to facilitate an improvement in expressing emotions.
Improving your ability to express yourself translates into improving your relationships, improving your mood, reducing your anxiety, and strengthening your own sense of self. We all want to be understood, we want to feel like we belong, we want to feel purposeful, and we want to feel strong enough to handle the challenges life invariably brings.
I have helped many clients work through their personal life transitions and struggles, their overwhelming stress, their depression, their anxiety, and their past or current traumas.
I thrive in connecting with the person and developing trust, hope and faith in the therapeutic -and creative- process. My main focus is to provide a safe space for open conversations, either through virtual counseling or in-person. I allow you to find your own path towards growing and healing. It takes courage to face your psychological challenges AND to take the first steps towards change, if you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you all the way!
