Karina Segura Lara, MS
Hi, I’m Karina Segura Lara, MS~
I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, dedicated to creating a supportive, compassionate, and empowering space where clients feel truly seen and heard. I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and self-esteem concerns.
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe that healing begins when we feel safe to explore, grow, and show up authentically-and I’m here to walk beside you on that journey.
I also incorporate a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection, recognizing how our physical and emotional experiences often reflect one another. By tuning into this relationship, we can foster greater self-awareness and create meaningful, lasting change. When working with children, I often incorporate play-based and creative techniques that help them express themselves in ways that feel natural and engaging.
I completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University, where I gained a strong foundation in evidence-based practices and person-centered care. I aim to meet each client where they are and tailor the process to their unique needs and goals.
A little about me: In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends. You’ll find me taking evening walks, enjoying nature, and finding new ways to recharge and stay inspired.
Whether in person at our Davie office or via telehealth, I’m here and ready to help you take that first step in your therapy journey.
