Ryan Israel, MSW

Hi, I’m Ryan Israel.

Are you feeling stuck, uncertain, or isolated? I want to help. I’ll provide a safe place for you to confront life as we work towards you becoming the best version of yourself. Together we’ll explore your individual experiences in order to help identify and resolve emotional issues and negative behaviors.

I help children, adults, couples and families suffering from abuse, trauma, depression, family conflict, anxiety, acculturation, and emotional distress related to caregiving and being diagnosed with a major illness. I’m a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern and I graduated from the University of Michigan School of Social Work.

I come from a legal background, practicing as a Florida licensed attorney since 2015 and as an immigration lawyer. I was admitted to the Michigan bar as well as the Southern District Court of Florida and the Eastern District Court of Michigan. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of law with a Juris Doctorate Degree. I received a Master of Jurisprudence Legal Doctrine and Analysis Degree. I graduated with a Romance Languages and Literature degree from the University of Michigan. I speak fluent Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese, I provide psychotherapy in all of these languages.

I have experience working with clients from around the world and coming from many different backgrounds and cultures. I understand that making the decision to leave one’s home in the hope of making a better life elsewhere takes strength, determination, and courage.

My unique background is useful in helping people who are struggling with mental health issues related to immigration and culture shock. Adapting to a new culture can exacerbate anxiety symptoms – particularly if you do not speak the language! I know that every person’s story and journey is unique, but I’m also aware that many people experience trauma on their road to a new life. Reaching out for help is the first step to healing and starting over.

My work with Seasons Psychotherapy Associates involves providing psychotherapy services, I do not offer legal advice or counsel in my role as a psychotherapist.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, camping, traveling, and being in nature. I love meeting people and am naturally curious about other cultures and places.

Begin a New Season in Your Life.
