Karli Gallo, LMHC
Hi, I’m Karli Gallo~
I know that life can sometimes feel like walking in the dark. We know we need to make a change but are not sure how. Motivation and happiness can be fleeting. And sometimes it feels like we’re hanging on by a thread. After all, life doesn’t come with a manual. If there is a change you’d like to make and need someone to listen and provide the support you need to take action, I am here for you.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and earned my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I love my job as a therapist and fostering authentic relationships with others. I enjoy working with college students, young adults, and adults. I have experience working with those who suffer with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, grief and loss, relationship conflicts, and spirituality concerns.
It takes a tremendous amount of courage to reach out for support. You are one step closer to living the life you want to live.
I’m trained in a specialized trauma intervention called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is a wonderful intervention to help those suffering from PTSD, anxiety, phobias, depression, and many other mental health issues. I have extensive experience using EMDR to alleviate the intensity of memories and triggers from unwanted sexual contact, physical and emotional abuse, events that have led to family estrangement, bullying, car accidents, dog bites, and phobias.
It is important to me that college students and young adults have access to high quality mental health care, as I was once a student who benefited from therapy. The early adulthood years are full of change and forming new relationships. Problems like depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and changing family dynamics can make this process feel even more chaotic. I would love to help you gain insight into the source of your struggles and learn skills to reduce distress.
My counseling style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I use a person-centered approach, and incorporate mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR. It is my priority to be respectful and culturally sensitive in my work so that therapy is safe and supportive for everyone. I provide LGBTQAI+ friendly therapy services and work to be an ally for all of my clients.
I am here to offer support, guidance, and to hold your joys and pains with you, so you know you are not alone. So if you’re ready to get started on changing your life, I’m here for you.
