Krystle Maycock
Hi, I’m Krystle Maycock~
Hi! I’m Krystle – a Clinical Mental Health Therapy Intern committed to providing youth and families with solution focused therapy techniques geared toward empowerment. As a school counselor for the past 12 years, I have had the distinct experience of providing support services in a variety of contexts including individual counseling, suicidal ideation, academic advising, and LGBTQ+.
Growing up within the inner city walls of Miami, I witnessed first-hand how the disparities among different socio-economic and cultural expectations can affect a person’s potential for success, and in navigating my own road I was tempted to succumb to perceived discriminations
That is how I have come to embrace my therapeutic philosophy: Regardless of your educational or socio-economic status, we are all deserving of a life well led with respect, dignity, and honor. I pledge to support you on your journey and to meet you wherever you are in the process.
My areas of expertise include stress management, anxiety and depression, oppositional defiance, parenting skills, and realistic goal setting. I utilize various therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, solution- focused counseling, cognitive- behavioral counseling, and person-centered counseling. By positioning myself as an objective empath, your needs and reality will be validated, putting you in the driver’s seat. As a professional therapist, I strive to make each session warm and inviting so that you may leave feeling empowered and invigorated!
I currently reside in Pembroke Pines with my husband of 14 years. We met at Florida Atlantic University where he played football and I ran track. Spare time is a rarity as two of our children play sports year-round. I enjoy running, working out, and exploring outdoors with my family. Most of all I enjoy cooking, particularly grilling.
