Rebecca Matte, LMFT-QS

Hi, I’m Rebecca Matte.

Have you noticed that you’re struggling with feeling sad, anxious or upset more often than usual? Do you feel stuck in life due to past traumas or painful life experiences? Are you and your partner going through a difficult time? Or maybe your child is struggling in school or at home with you?

You’re not alone. As human beings we all go through challenging times. I’m here to support and help you through those difficult times. I’m fortunate to be in a position that I can offer a safe environment to assist you through the dark moments of life. I know taking a step to ask for help is hard, but I also know by getting help you’ll be making a difference in your life and the lives of the people who love you.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Qualified Supervisor for new Marriage & Family Therapists and Mental Health Counselors. I graduated with my Masters in Counseling from Barry University. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve helped young children, their families, teenagers, adults, and couples ease their emotional pain and find solutions to their life struggles. I’ve been trained in infant mental health and trauma interventions. I’ve also had training in play therapy, plus parenting and couples therapy.

I believe in the philosophy that we have the power to heal ourselves. That does not mean that you have to do it all on your own! I’ll be your partner, your cheerleader, and your guide. I’ll help hold you accountable for your own healing. Through our therapeutic relationship you’ll learn coping skills to help you on your journey to wellbeing. My job is to make sure you feel safe, secure, and comfortable talking to me.

I’ve been humbled and privileged to work with so many wonderful clients throughout my career. I’m consistently amazed to discover my clients’ resiliency in the face of adversity, combined with their drive for improving their life.

In my time away from clients, I enjoy disconnecting with a bit of TV watching or taking walks with my dog. I love practicing yoga to help stay balanced. When I have the time, I enjoy kayaking and hiking. It’s important to me to get out and enjoy Mother Nature as often as possible. Finding balance in nature helps me provide balance to the clients I work with.
