Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Hi, I’m Adriana.
I graduated with my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling in 2011 from Nova Southeastern University. I began my journey working with adolescents, and children in various community youth settings addressing behavioral, and emotional issues while also including their families in their process of healing. I became a licensed mental health counselor in 2014 and that is when I began my journey in the field of addiction working in various drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers for adults.
During the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide array of clients from children to adults providing services such as individual, family, couples, and group therapy. Specifically, I’ve helped my clients overcome and cope with substance abuse issues, trauma, learned to manage mood disorders, as well as help them overcome difficulties with codependency and low self-esteem that come about during childhood, and adolescent years.
Over time, I’ve become acutely aware that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to working with people to help make positive changes in their lives. My core belief about therapy is that there needs to be a strong rapport and relationship established between the therapist and the client in order for the healing process to begin. Openness, honesty, and willingness are three significant components that I believe help to build this therapist-client relationship. It is my philosophy to meet my clients where they are at while also motivating them to create positive changes. Most importantly, I want to make sure that my clients truly see how genuinely passionate I am about helping them create a catalyst for change, as I whole heartedly believe that every person has the potential and strength within to create and live their best lives.
