What is Intensive Therapy?
Are you in crisis? Have you experienced a recent traumatic incident? Is your relationship falling apart? Has your house turned into a warzone with out of control teens? Have you been diagnosed with a mental or physical illness? Or, are you grieving and feeling stuck?
Do you want to achieve your goals and improve your overall wellbeing as fast as possible?
If this sounds like you, then an intensive therapeutic experience could be the answer you’ve been looking for.
We offer the Intensive Therapy Program to individuals, couples, families, or groups.
You could benefit from Intensive therapy if you’re struggling with mental health difficulties and would like to maximize your recovery in the shortest amount of time. The therapists at Seasons have advanced training and experience treating many of the issues people face, including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma
- PTSD
- Anger
- Relationship Problems
Your issues resolved in days not weeks…
Traditionally, you’d attend therapy one hour a week for months. Comparatively, when you attend an intensive you’re getting the equivalent of months of therapy in a weekend. The Intensive Therapy Program at Seasons is a highly successful alternative to your standard weekly therapy sessions. We want to help you make a quick and positive impact on your mental health.
Instead of going to months of therapy, you can jumpstart your healing in as little as two or three days.
Our trained psychotherapists help you assess your situation, clarify your issues, and uncover the root of your problems. We’ll help you target specific goals and achieve them; thus there’s a beginning, a middle, and an end to your intensive therapy experience.
We tailor your intensive to meet your unique needs, some examples of issues we’ve helped are below:
- Identify trauma sources
- Understand family of origin and generational influences
- Learn the role that spirituality plays in healing from trauma
- Develop tools to reconnect with the body, self, and others
- Discover barriers to intimacy
- Learn essential relational skills
- Gain tools to better resolve conflicts and regulate emotions
- Renew trust
Group Intensive
We customize your intensive to address the core issues that are hindering relationships within your group. Therefore, a group intensive is right for any group hoping to strengthen, mend, or examine relationships. Groups that benefit from an intensive:
- Nuclear Families
- Fathers and Sons
- Adult Siblings
- Business Partners
- Friends
- Mothers and Daughters
- Bands
- Teammates
- Extended Families
- And more…
A group intensive can help you:
- Explore and improve relationships
- Understand family dynamics
- Practice tools for healing core issues
- Learn role flexibility for greater freedom
- Gain tools to resolve group conflict in a healthy manner
Where do you hold intensives?
Seasons Psychotherapy Associates holds intensives anywhere in the state of Florida. Basically, where we do an intensive is completely up to you and your needs. We welcome you to come and enjoy the warmth of South Florida in our beautiful Davie, FL office. Or, we can travel anywhere in Florida you’d like to have your intensive. We’re less than 20 minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale and about 40 minutes from Miami. Basically, people travel to South Florida from all over the country to do this type of work with us. You don’t have to be from Florida to plan an intensive at Seasons.
In addition to holding intensives in our office, we can travel anywhere in the state of Florida. If at a location other than our office, we typically utilize a private hotel hospitality suite. We can also arrange for overnight accommodation for you at this same location if desired.

How much do intensives cost?
Intensives are not cheap, but we’d like to argue that they are far less costly than a divorce, a failed business partnership, or a family crisis that worsens over time. Our Intensive Therapy Program prices range widely in price depending on the location and length, the therapist you use, and whether we provide lodging during your Intensive Program. Intensives begin as low as $500 for a half-day to as much as $10,000 for a week with our most senior therapists.
Does insurance cover any of the cost?
Generally, no. Your mental health benefit usually covers routine outpatient services. For instance, one hour of psychotherapy per week is approved by your insurance. In short, insurance doesn’t cover consecutive hours of therapy provided in one day. Given that, we do not work with insurance companies for the Intensive Program. Therefore, we would require that you sign an opt-out of insurance form if you decide you would like to receive services through our Seasons Intensive Therapy Program.
An Investment in your future
Intensive therapy is a financial investment in you and your future, rather than paying weekly for traditional therapy, you’ll be investing a larger amount of money up front (that in the long run will likely still be less money than ongoing weekly therapy). Many people have to plan ahead and save before they can schedule an Intensive. Once the intensive is scheduled though, you will have a fixed cost to work with rather than the unknown.
We believe that in the long run intensives are more cost effective because the therapy is concentrated and highly focused. The work is much more efficient and in the end requires less session time and usually less overall cost. Rather than opening up and closing things down each week, we only have to open things up once. Therefore, more session time is spent processing and healing.
What does a typical day in an intensive look like?
Typically, sessions will begin around 9am. Then, we’ll take a lunch break around noon and usually we’ll end around 4pm. Remember, that schedule is entirely flexible to accommodate the work being pursued. Depending upon the nature of the therapeutic process, breaks will be taken as needed. The schedule is flexible because it is tailored to you.
Please keep in mind that it is called an intensive for a reason. The work is certainly INTENSE, but so is the healing! We know that intensives may not be for everyone. We offer a free consultation to make sure that we are a good fit for your specific needs.
