Hi, I’m Jackie.
Do you find yourself struggling to manage your emotions, feeling like you’re on a never-ending rollercoaster ride? Are you barely keeping your head above water, trying to balance work, family, and your emotional well-being? You may even find yourself scrolling through your phone for hours, only to feel empty and unfulfilled afterward. Or maybe your loved ones may have noticed that you’ve been disconnected and avoidant altogether. These are all common struggles that can leave you feeling helpless and alone. But you don’t have to feel this way forever.
Hi, I’m Jackie! I am a Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Intern at Seasons Psychotherapy Associates and I will be graduating with my Masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh in August 2023. My passion lies in helping people understand and take control of their emotions. I know that managing difficult emotions can be overwhelming and sometimes feel impossible. However, I believe that with the right tools, anyone can learn to navigate these challenges and develop healthy coping strategies. I recognize that exploring emotions can be difficult, which is why I approach your concerns with empathy and curiosity. I prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space for you to develop the skills you need to feel more in control. And when you accomplish your goals, we celebrate together.
I have experience working with a diverse range of clients, including survivors of sexual assault, first responders, and Veterans. I’ve received specialized training in the Unified Protocol of Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders (UP), a cognitive-behavioral approach which helps clients with anxiety and depression. I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all approach and it is more than simply venting about one’s problems. It requires a willingness and determination to do the hard work and practice new skills and strategies.
Working with me is like having a co-pilot on a turbulent flight; I’m here to help you navigate through the turbulence and land safely on the other side. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I’ll work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your unique needs and goals.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy painting, soaking up the sun at the beach, spending time with my Goldendoodle at the park, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. As a Colombian native raised in Miami, I value cultural diversity and strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all of my clients.
I became a therapist because I believe in the power of human connection and the resilience of the human spirit. I’m honored to be a part of your journey toward healing and growth. Remember, your mental health is like a garden that needs constant care and attention – let’s work together to keep it blooming all year long!
